2026 Themes and work
This image was the winning entry of a 2012 competition run by the London Transport Museum and sponsored by Serco. The theme of the piece was ‘Secret London’ and recalled the location of an arch that had once stood at the entrance to the City of London now defined by the Griffin. The arch was re-discovered overgrown and forgotten in Essex and was returned to where it now stands in Paternoster Square, behind St Paul’s.

The themes are:
Landmarks
Transportation
Fantastic Beasts
See the terms and condition for taking part at this link https://theinfinnityproject.uk/submit-your-work
Cards are available at £3.00 each including P&P in aid of Rethink. The poster is still on sale via the London Transport Museum Shop.

The first entry under Fantastic Beasts theme:

A3 Watercolour – Jenny Rutland says she was inspired by her Landmarks piece below. She says I thought I would do a “real” kelpie for fantastic beasts. A scottish fantastic beast that lives in the water, it is thought that it is used to frighten children away from deep water, a nice idea.

The first entry under the Landmarks theme:

The Kelpies are a pair of monumental steel horse-heads between the Scottish towns of Falkirk and Grangemouth. They stand next to the M9 motorway and form the eastern gateway of the Forth and Clyde Canal, which meets the River Carron here. Each head is 30 metres high and weighs approximately 300 tonnes.

Jenny is a long term supporter of the InFinnity Project – she says: I enjoy entering the Infinnity Project every year and thinking about the challenges of the themes. Art is very relaxing for me. I find it impossible to be anxious when I am concentrating on a piece.

Our first entry under the Transportation theme:

This work has been submitted independently by Raven who has contributed pieces every year since the Project’s inception. On A4 paper it captures the theme of transportation to other places. Raven remarks: This projects help us push our creativity and an anchor for the year, we look forward to seeing new themes. Creativity is our safe space to just be, giving us room to grow and heal.
